The nose is an organ with many functional importance, such as breathing, odor, humidification of the inhaled air and purification from dust, and the creation of resonance during speech. The most vital activity we do in our daily life without being aware of it is to breathe through the nose.

Curvatures in the cartilage and bone partition (septum) of the inner part of the nose due to both developmental and subsequent blows in the nose can cause breathing problems and negatively affect our quality of life and health. Nasal congestion, sleeping with an open mouth, snoring, dry mouth, frequent pharyngitis infections, post-nasal drip, fatigue and weakness during the day, lack of attention, recurrent nosebleeds, headache, frequent sinusitis infections can cause.

Examination is sufficient for the diagnosis of the disease. If necessary, sinus tomography may be requested to evaluate concomitant sinusitis or nasal concha problems.

Operations in which nasal cartilage curvatures are corrected are called Septoplasty surgery. The surgery is performed under general or local anesthesia and takes approximately 45 minutes. Pathologies such as nasal concha and polyps that cause nasal congestion during surgery are removed in the same session. There is no change in the external shape of the nose after the surgery. However, there are no complaints such as pain, swelling, bruising under the eyes in the nose, around the eyes.

Our patients whose nasal cartilage curvature is corrected can be discharged on the same day after surgery.
