Nose surgery, directly related to an aesthetically pleasing smile, a captivating gaze, and the facial expressions that make us unique, has become one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in recent years.

Nose surgery, directly related to an aesthetically pleasing smile, a captivating gaze, and the facial expressions that make us unique, has become one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in recent years.

Rhinoplasty, also known as nose reshaping surgery, is one of the most frequently chosen aesthetic surgical procedures. With rhinoplasty, the nose can be reshaped, a hump can be removed, the nasal tip can be lifted, nasal deviations can be corrected, and the nostrils can be narrowed if necessary. Rhinoplasty makes the nose more harmonious with the person's face, allowing them to feel better, be more positive, and increase their self-confidence. If the patient also has breathing problems, these can be addressed during the same procedure, leading to a healthier individual.

How is rhinoplasty performed?

Rhinoplasty is performed under general anesthesia, with the patient fully asleep, and is a procedure that typically lasts 3-6 hours. In fact, the duration of rhinoplasty surgery continues until the desired aesthetic results are achieved. We perform our surgeries using an open technique, where an incision is made in the front of the nose, allowing access to the entire bone and cartilage structure of the nose. The goal of rhinoplasty is to reshape the bone and cartilage structure of the nose.

Who is a candidate for rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty can be performed on women from the age of 17 and on men from the age of 18. The important point here is that patients must have completed their facial development. Rhinoplasty performed on patients whose bone development is not yet complete carries a risk of developing nasal deviation over time.

Who are suitable candidates for rhinoplasty?

If you have a problem with the external appearance of your nose and the resulting shape will make you feel more comfortable, confident, and better, you may be a suitable candidate. Patients who experience difficulty breathing through their nose, have a hump on the nasal bridge, a drooping nasal tip, a noticeable curvature in the front view, a nose that appears large in proportion to their face, or a nose that appears wide in the front view constitute the majority of our rhinoplasty patients.

What are the techniques used in rhinoplasty surgery?

Rhinoplasty surgery can be performed using either an open or closed technique. In the open technique, an incision is made in the front of the nose, while in the closed technique, incisions are made inside the nose to complete the operation. The open technique allows for complete visualization of the bone and cartilage structure beneath the skin, making it more effective to identify and address all deformities, size, and shape differences. Our clinic uses the open technique. However, it should be remembered that whether to use the open or closed technique is a matter of surgeon preference, and the important thing is that the result is aesthetically pleasing and satisfactory for the patient.

What is the recovery process like after rhinoplasty surgery?

The Night of the Surgery;

After the operation, the patient is taken to their room to spend the night. Medications are administered to alleviate the patient's discomfort, and visits are made to check their condition and arrange necessary treatments.

The next day;

After your doctor has completed the necessary checkups, you can be discharged from the hospital and go home.

First Week;

Swelling and edema will reach their maximum level in the first 2-3 days after surgery. After that, they will begin to decrease rapidly. Although breathing through the nose may be difficult during the first week due to the nasal packing, and it may be uncomfortable while sleeping and eating, this period is generally well tolerated.

Day 7;

Your nasal packing, the stitches on the front of your nose, and the nasal splint will be removed. Your nose will initially appear swollen, but this will decrease over time. Re-taping of the nasal bridge may be recommended, and massage may be suggested if necessary. Swelling on your face, cheeks, and around your eyes is also normal. You can return to school or work in 7-10 days.

Second Week;

The swelling has decreased somewhat, and the patient has reached a level where they can participate in social activities.

Month;

In the first month, your nose will quickly begin to adapt to your new shape and face. You will start to feel more at peace with yourself and better about yourself. After the first month, you will be able to do the activities you want.

3 MONTHS;

Nearly 70% of the healing is complete. Your swelling has subsided. Your nose is starting to look more natural and beautiful. We have passed the most critical third month of healing.

6th month;

Most of the recovery is complete. You may feel more comfortable and secure.

Year 1;

Your recovery is almost complete. Your nose has finished its transformation cycle and is now balanced and stable as a part of you. The incision scar on the front of your nose has healed to the point where it is barely visible. With natural aesthetic surgery, most people who see you will not be able to tell that you have had rhinoplasty.

What are the costs of rhinoplasty surgery?

Rhinoplasty prices vary depending on whether it's a first surgery, the hospital where it's performed, and the chosen surgeon. They also depend on the complexity of the procedure and the structure of the nose. The most important thing is achieving a result that satisfies the patient. Costs are important, but they should always be secondary. The priority should always be achieving a result that makes you happy.

Female Nose Aesthetics

In female rhinoplasty, we aim to create natural and elegant-looking noses that complement feminine facial features. This involves lifting the tip of the nose so that the nostrils are not visible from the front, positioning the nasolabial angle at 95-105 degrees, and creating a bridge that is curved or straight from the side and slender from the front.

Male Rhinoplasty

In male rhinoplasty, the goal is to preserve a masculine facial expression by reducing the nasal hump in a side view and creating a straighter nasal bridge. The aim is to achieve nose shapes where the nasolabial angle remains approximately 90-95 degrees, and the nasal tip is lifted only slightly compared to women. The objective is to maintain a harmonious masculine appearance with the nose's overall facial structure.
